myCSG © |Area: ADaM| Concept: C1009 : ADaM BDS - Analysis Flags | Lesson: L101 : Creation of ANL01FL, multiple record within an analysis visit. Closest and earliest record will be chosen |

Some examples of record selection algorithms:

  • Select the earliest record within an analysis visit
  • Select the latest record within an analysis visit
  • Select the record that is closest to the target day within an analysis visit
  • Select the record with lowest/highest/worst result across postbaseline records
  • Select the records of the subject's who has experienced at least one 'Grade 4' lab toxicity
  • In clinical trial data, there will be cases where multiple collections are present in an analysis visit
  • In those scenarios, we get a question on which record to choose from the available records for by visit analysis ( for by visit analysis only one record should be considered for a subject and parameter)
  • A predefined rule is generally specified in the statistical plan on which of those records to use
  • One such rule is to use the record which is closest to target day and if multiple records exists which are equally close then to use the earliest one
  • We populate an analysis flag as 'Y' on tho chosen record.
Subject Parameter Visit Collection day Target day How far from target?
1001 SYSBP Week 2 13 14 1
1001 SYSBP Week 2 15 14  1

 In this lesson,

  • We will see how to identify the record which is closest to the target day
  • Identify the earliest record when multiple records exist which are equally close to the target
  • Populate analysis flag on the chosen record

AWTDIFF Analysis Window Diff From Target Set to the absolute difference between ADY and AWTARGET (that is, ABS(ADY-AWTARGET))
ANL01FL Analysis Flag 01 Set to "Y" on the record which is closest to target day with in an analysis visit.
If there exists multiple records which are closest, pick the earliest record.
